For those that don't have a picnic planned, Labor Day seems to be a day for television watching. That led to a chance re-watching of one of my favorite scenes from any movie, ever. It's the "Goy's Teeth" story from 2009's A Serious Man, which is a movie all about Judaism and the nature of mystical uncertainty.

This puzzled me also years ago when I first to up residence in Rome. “Pope Wojtyla” or "Pope Ratzinger" is a convention in Italian journalism and is not necessarily used as a sign of disrespect. Andrea Tornielli is not a secularist or critic of Pope Benedict. He is merely using a common Italian convention.
